POS FAQ
Does the POS work offline?+
Yes. The app runs on a local database, so sales, cart, and customer lookups all keep working with no internet. Transactions queue and sync automatically the moment connectivity returns.
What hardware is the POS compatible with?+
Two hardware families: certified Android POS terminals and tablets — including PAX and Clover — and Debian / Ubuntu / Linux Mint x86 countertop stations (NRS-type all-in-ones), which run the same POS as an installed desktop app. Both work with standard ESC/POS receipt printers, USB/Bluetooth barcode scanners, cash drawers, and card readers such as Stripe Terminal and Dejavoo.
Do I need to install printer drivers or configure ports?+
No. The POS auto-detects USB, Bluetooth, and network receipt printers and sets them up for you — plug one in and it's ready. A status indicator shows the printer as Ready, Disconnected, or Error, and the system heals itself: it reconnects after a drop, pauses printing when the paper runs out and resumes when you reload it, and retries a failed receipt (or lets you save it) so nothing is lost.
How does loyalty sync with my existing Loyalty iCard program?+
It's the same program. The POS talks to your Loyalty iCard account over the API, so points earned and redeemed at the register appear instantly in the customer's wallet card and your dashboard — no separate system to reconcile.
Is it suitable for restaurants and cafés?+
Yes. Item modifiers (milk swaps, add-ons), quick-tap categories, split payments, and a touch-optimized layout make it well suited to cafés and quick-service restaurants, as well as retail.
Does it help with theft and manager approvals?+
Yes. Loss prevention is built in: you set thresholds and the POS raises anti-theft alerts when a cashier runs an unusual number of voids or no-sales, or an oversized refund or discount. And when a cashier needs a manager to authorize a void, discount, or refund, they send a request that appears on a manager's device anywhere on the store network — approve or deny with one tap, no walking to the register.
Can I market to my customers from the POS?+
Yes. Customers are sorted automatically into segments — VIPs, birthdays this month, lapsed regulars, new customers — from their real spend and visit history. From the Marketing screen you can send an email or SMS campaign to any segment or group in a few taps. At checkout the register also suggests products to add, based on your store's own baskets or the customer's usual order.
How is the app deployed to my devices?+
On Android, for multiple locations we deploy through managed Google Play and standard MDM platforms (Intune, Workspace ONE, SOTI), so devices enroll, configure, and update remotely. Debian, Ubuntu, and Linux Mint stations install a signed .deb or AppImage package — a single setup command installs the app, wires it to boot straight into the till, and sets up the printer. Single devices on either platform can also be set up manually.
